The recent loss of my father had a lot to do with the way the work developed during this period. Darker pieces (both in form and content) reflected a different mood, and irony and sense of humor had all but disappeared. There was also a more realistic approach, and although some of the characters were taken from real life they were there as “performers”, again impersonating some of those heroes that often turn up in  my personal mythology.
