Carlos Cortes has worked in many educational settings. His work in this field is closely related to his artistic practice, since participation, sharing of knowledge and experience and the use of collective creative processes are regular staples of his work.

Previous projects include workshops and sessions at nursery, primary school, college, hospital, young offender institution settings as well as many gallery and museum-based projects where the work of an artist is ”interpreted” through a number of exercises in different disciplines.

He’s specialized in site-specific projects and has worked with people of all ages, with mental and physically disabled people, homeless people etc...

He trained with the Unit for Art and Offenders undertaking the course “Working with volatile and vulnerable groups in open and closed community settings”.
