When I was 21 I discovered my left hand as a creative tool. (I’m right-handed for anything else ).

From then on my drawings have been always the starting point for any painting and the most valuable source of inspiration. This direct access to the right side of the brain has also been the key to many of the developments in other fields of my practice.

Years ago my drawings were always about imagined characters. I would draw with no direct reference to any real person or event. Nowadays they are also a way of bringing real people into my imaginary world. I start by taking pictures that then go through the “left hand” process. In this selection there are drawings form different periods, some of them can be seen in their final evolution as paintings in other sections of this website
